Apple discontinues iPhone XR

Apple has discontinued the iPhone XR three years after its release. The device will no longer be sold through Apple’s website or in Apple Stores, but will continue to be available through third-party retailers.

It comes as Apple has announced the iPhone 13 lineup, with smaller notch, camera improvements, A15 Bionic chip and much more. All iPhone 13 models will replace last year’s iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

The iPhone XR was announced in 2018 alongside the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. It was the first all-screen iPhone with an LCD display, instead of OLED, and was followed by the iPhone 11 in 2019. The iPhone XR had an A12 chip, single 12MP camera and Face ID.
