Apple Watch Series 7 leaked in new renders with larger displays and new design
- New renders claim to show the redesigned Apple Watch with flat edges
- The displays could also get larger, although the physical dimensions will be similar to the Series 6
It will have an updated design with flatter sides, but will retain the same sensor layout on the back, and looks to keep the Digital Crown and side button. The redesign will bring the Apple Watch in line with the iPhone, iPad and upcoming MacBook Pro models, which all sport a flat design.
Apple could increase the screen sizes by reducing the bezels and moving to the flat design, which increases surface area. It has not been revealed if Apple will use a Mini-LED display in the Apple Watch Series 7, or if this technology is still in development. It will be offered in the same 40mm and 44mm sizes, and the physical dimensions will be nearly identical to current models.
The renders are in line with what Jon Prosser shared earlier this year, also depicting the larger speaker grill. Prosser claims that Apple will offer the Series 7 in multiple colours, and both sources confirm that existing bands will still be compatible.
Apple will likely announce the Apple Watch Series 7 alongside the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro and AirPods 3 at an event in September, multiple sources have claimed. We will also see a redesigned iPad mini, updates to the budget iPad and 14-inch and 16-inch M1X MacBook Pro models by the end of this year.
