[Updated] Microsoft Outlook to drop support for iOS 13
- Microsoft has announced a new strategy for software support for Outlook on iOS
- The new plan means that the app will support the two latest versions of iOS and iPadOS
Microsoft is changing how it supports Apple software with future versions of Outlook for iPhone and iPad, it announced on Tuesday.
Starting later this year, it will only support the two latest versions of iOS, meaning users will need to be on iOS 14 and iOS 15 to continue receiving updates. It will end support for iOS 13. Similarly, Outlook will no longer be supported on watchOS 6 when watchOS 8 is released to the public this fall.
Although users on iOS 13 will be able to continue using Outlook, over time the app is set to stop synchronizing emails and calendar invites. Microsoft recommends that users update to the latest version of iOS, or purchase a new device.
Devices running iOS 13, including the iPhone 6s and iPhone SE, can also be updated to iOS 14 and will receive iOS 15 for free later this year.
