iPhone 15 may debut with larger 6.2 — inch display
- iPhone 15 Pro renders were leaked online last week, and now 3D CAD files have been obtained.
- The CAD files reveal design changes, including the ditching of the notch for a Dynamic Island.
- The iPhone 15 will have a new 6.2 inch display and will adopt USB-Type C as its charging port.
- Capacitive buttons are only expected to be available on the iPhone 15 Pro models.
- Reports suggest that the leaks are likely true, and the iPhone 15 series will consist of four models, launching in September.

The CAD files also show that the iPhone 15 will have a new display size of 6.2 inches, which is slightly larger than most recent base model iPhones, except for the iPhone 14 Plus and 14 Pro Max. However, the display resolution and refresh rate are unknown at this point, but are expected to be similar to those of the iPhone 14 models. Capacitive buttons, which were rumoured to be coming to some iPhone models this year, were missing from the CAD files, but it seems like they will only be available on the iPhone 15 Pro models.
The new leaks are in line with a recent report by 9To5Mac, which also revealed 3D CAD files for the iPhone 15. The report claims that the smartphone will have a new display size of 6.2 inches, compared to the iPhone 14's 6.06-inch screen. Like the CAD files, the report suggests that the smartphone will feature Dynamic Island instead of the notch. The report also confirms that the smartphone will adopt USB-C as its charging port, replacing the Lightning port used on every iPhone since 2012.

Although there is no official word from Apple regarding the design and features of the iPhone 15, the new leaks and reports are expected to be true, given that they are in line with the company's yearly trend. Apple is likely to launch the upcoming iPhone 15 series, consisting of four models: the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max, in September this year. However, there is no information yet on the price, colour, or specs of the new smartphones.
