October 2025 Apple Event Rumors: iPad Pro M5, Vision Pro, and More
- Apple might be gearing up for another October Apple Event this year.
- Rumors say the iPad Pro is finally getting the much-anticipated M5 chip.
- Blast from the past! Vision Pro may show up again—this time in Space Black. Read on.
Apple’s September iPhone keynote has wrapped, the iPhone 17 is already stealing headlines, and yet—Apple watchers aren’t done speculating. If history is any guide, October often brings another wave of announcements. Sometimes it’s a splashy event with Tim Cook on stage. Other times, Apple quietly pushes out press releases and snappy product videos. The question on everyone’s mind: will October 2025 be a stage show or a simple “check your inbox” moment?
A quick look back in time
Apple doesn’t have a rigid calendar for October, but patterns do emerge:
October 2021
A proper event (October 18) with the debut of the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro (M1 Pro/Max), AirPods 3, and colorful HomePod mini refreshes.
October 2022
No event—just a series of press releases (October 18) for iPad Pro with M2, the 10th-gen iPad, and Apple TV 4K (3rd gen).
October 2023
Back to an event (“Scary Fast” on October 30) that showed off M3-powered MacBook Pros and a refreshed iMac.
October 2024
Again, no event—just releases over three days, introducing M4 MacBook Pros, M4 iMac, and an M4 Mac mini.
So far the rhythm has been clear: event, press releases, event, press releases. By that logic, 2025 could swing back to an actual event.
So, what’s rumored for 2025?
Apple is notoriously tight-lipped, but reports from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman and supply-chain chatter have painted a fairly convincing picture of what might be on deck:

iPad Pro (M5 chip)
Expect a major update with Apple’s newest silicon. Rumors also suggest dual front-facing cameras—so video calls finally make sense whether you’re in portrait or landscape.
Vision Pro (M5 chip)
A performance bump is on the table, possibly paired with a more comfortable head strap and even a sleek Space Black finish.
AirTag (2nd generation)
Improved range—up to three times farther—plus better anti-tampering protection. And yes, your iPhone might finally warn you when its tiny coin cell battery is running low.
HomePod mini refresh
Likely to inherit Apple’s newer S-series silicon, support for Apple Intelligence’s upgraded Siri, and Wi-Fi 7. Some rumors suggest fresh colors (red keeps coming up).
Apple TV update
Expect faster guts (A17 Pro or even a next-gen N-series chip) plus Wi-Fi 7. A FaceTime camera has been rumored, but that might still be a “someday” feature.
MacBook Pro and Studio Display
Don’t hold your breath just yet. M5 MacBook Pros are expected to hit early 2026 instead, alongside a new Studio Display with mini-LED backlighting. If you’re itching for an OLED MacBook Pro redesign, that’s probably a year or two away.
Will Apple actually host an event?
Here’s the thing: Apple has been juggling between press releases and stage events. The trend points toward a live keynote every other year, which would mean 2025 is due for a proper show. And in recent years, the company has shifted its timing from mid-October to the tail end of the month.
If that cadence holds, expect invites to go out sometime in mid-October, with the event itself happening around October 28–30. Pre-orders for whatever hardware drops would then likely begin the following week, possibly Friday, November 7.
Of course, all of this is speculation—Apple could just as easily spring a “Scary Fast 2.0” event on us or quietly drop new gear via newsroom posts.

Why This October Could Matter More
Unlike past years where Macs dominated, this fall might tilt toward Apple’s broader ecosystem. An M5 iPad Pro would showcase the future of Apple Silicon in mobile computing. A refreshed Vision Pro would show Apple’s commitment to evolving spatial computing beyond its pricey first-gen. And accessories like AirTag and HomePod mini touch the everyday corners of Apple households.
If you’re someone who skipped last year’s MacBook updates, you might not have much to lust over this October. But if you’ve been waiting for Apple to reinvigorate its iPad lineup—or to prove that Vision Pro isn’t a one-and-done—this could be the event that makes you raise an eyebrow.
The Bottom Line
October events don’t always happen, but when they do, they’re often memorable. Apple likes to keep fans guessing, and part of the fun is exactly that—the guessing. Whether we see Tim Cook on stage under rainbow-lit spotlights or just a string of press releases, this month is shaping up to be more than a footnote on Apple’s calendar.
So maybe keep your calendar loose around the last week of October. Just in case Apple has a few more tricks up its sleeve.
