Apple discontinues 27 — inch iMac

Apple has discontinued the 27-inch iMac following the Mac Studio announcement. This means that the larger iMac is no longer being sold and has been removed from Apple’s website.

The 27-inch iMac, which was one of the last Macs using Intel chips, was rumored to be updated with a new design and Apple silicon later this year. It’s looking increasingly unlikely that this is now the case, with rumors that a new iMac Pro has been delayed until 2023. This leaves the high end 3.0GHz Intel Core i5 2018 Mac mini and Mac Pro as the only Intel Macs remaining in Apple’s computer lineup.

However, Apple now sells the Studio Display, which has a 27-inch 5K panel, three-array microphones, 12MP ultra-wide camera and is powered by an A13 Bionic. This was announced alongside the Mac Studio, but can be used with any recent Mac.
