Apple considering vaccine requirements for returning employees
- Apple is considering vaccine requirements for employees to return to the office.
- Google announced the vaccine requirement for its employees returning to work from the office.
Apple recently pushed its official return date to October because of the rapidly spreading Delta variant of COVID-19. Tim Cook gave a bit more information on this topic when speaking with CNBC’s Josh Lipton.
…our main focus right now is on when to come back…we pushed it from early September to at least October…we are monitoring things daily to really conclude whether that is the right answer or not” - Tim Cook
Meanwhile, Apple has reinstated mask requirements within all US retail stores. It also reportedly sent an email to employees encouraging them to get the vaccine. In one such letter received by Bloomberg, Apple reportedly wrote the following:
Apple encourages everyone who is eligible to receive a Covid-19 vaccine, to take it. Please talk to your doctor and decide what’s right for you.
Apple’s return to the office has become unpopular among its employees, who have begun liking remote work. Although Apple is eager to return to work, many employees are against it and have already started signing petitions to change the company's return to office decision.
