- Apple released updates for HomePod, HomePod mini, and HomePod (second-generation), along with iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and watchOS.
- HomePod OS 16.3.2 includes general performance and stability improvements and fixes the bug that made Siri fail to respond to smart home requests the first time.
- Users can force an update by opening the Home app, tapping the ••• button, selecting Home Settings, and scrolling down to Software Update.
- iOS 16.3.1 includes a fix for iCloud settings, and macOS Ventura also has a bug fix patch available.
- The previous release, HomePod OS 16.3.1, addressed stability and performance issues with tvOS.
As stated in Apple’s official patch notes, “This update addresses an issue where asking Siri for smart home requests may fail, and also includes general performance and stability improvements.”

The bug in question caused Siri on HomePod to fail when responding to smart home requests the first time a request is made, with a timeout occurring. This could be incredibly frustrating when attempting to perform simple tasks such as turning on the lights. Users would have to repeat the request to get the job done.
Apple has said that the latest release fixes the problem, making it a welcome addition to the HomePod’s capabilities. HomePods automatically install updates periodically, but users can also force an update by opening the Home app, tapping the ••• button, selecting Home Settings, and scrolling down to Software Update.

The previous release, HomePod OS 16.3.1, addressed stability and performance issues with tvOS. The updates will eventually be installed automatically on all devices, but users can manually install them via the Settings app. The Home app can be used to control the HomePod software update.
