  • PlayStation announces the launch of Apple Music on the PlayStation 5.
  • It’s the first console to feature an Apple Music integration.

Apple Music already runs on smart TVs, streaming boxes and on Android devices. The gaming community so far had to live without the service. This changes today as Sony announced in a blog post that the PlayStation 5 will be the first game console to work with Apple Music. To use the feature, press the PlayStation button on the controller and select the music option. You can also let the music play in the background while gaming. It doesn't matter whether you start the service before the game or during it. Apple Music then recommends suitable music for the current game. Alternatively, you can choose your own playlists. Music videos are initially started in full screen mode. When you return to the game or the PS5 home screen, the music video continues to play in the background. If you want to return to the music video, it continues seamlessly from the current point without interrupting the music. However, users will still require an active Apple Music subscription to use it on their console.
